Chris’s Notebook:
Belief: Selling is about influence, and influence begins in the mind…
Ref: Simon Sinek: Model: “The Golden Circle of Inspired Leadership”
The Key Points: 1. People by why you do something, not what you do… 2. The Goal isn’t to do business with any- and everybody who needs what you have. 3. The Goal is to do business with the people who believe what you believe… 4. People are driven by the basis of Biology first, and influenced by Psychology second.
Triune Brain:
1. Newest section (most recent in human evolution) – makes up the Neo Cortex: Corresponds with the “what” level. 2. The Neo-cortex is responsible for all of our “rational” & analytic thought and language, so from a sales perspective, “features, benefits, facts and figures” doesn’t drive behavior
Middle Brian:
1. The Limbic system makes up the middle brain. 2. It’s responsible for our “feelings”; responsible for all human behavior, all decision making and has NO capacity for language.
Apple’s Success: They appeal to our base biological instinct.
[Why] “Everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo. We believe in thinking differently.”
[How] “…The way we challenge the status quo is by making our products beautifully designed, simple to use and user friendly.”
[What] “…We just happen to make computers. What to buy one?”

“If you choose to use your status and influence to raise your voice on behalf of those who have no voice; if you choose to identify not only with the powerful, but with the powerless; if you retain the ability to imagine yourself into the lives of those who do not have your advantages, then it will not only be your proud families who celebrate your existence, but thousands & millions of people whose reality you have helped change.
We do not need Magic to change the World; we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already. We have the Power to imagine better…” – J.K . Rowling
Ten Principles to Live By…
1 – Always challenge Certainty, especially your own
2 – Excellence is an unrelenting struggle and it’s the surest route to enduring satisfaction
3 – Emotions are contagious, so it pays to know what you are feeling
4 – When in doubt, ask yourself: “How would I behave here at my best?”
5 – If you do what you love, the money may or may not follow, but you’ll love what you do
6 – You need less than you think you do
7- Accept yourself exactly as you are and never stop trying to learn and grow
8 – Meaning isn’t something you discover, it’s something you create, one step at a time
9 – You can’t change what you don’t notice and not noticing won’t make it go away
10 – Know what you stand for
Have a prosperous day,
Chris
