How ready are you and your team?

How ready are you and your team?

Right now...you may be feeling like you're in a tunnel. You may be able to see the light far ahead...or you may only be seeing darkness.

When there is a major change in the world or in your life it's natural to feel like you're in the dark while you try to make sense of it all. Your emotions can range from feeling a bit wobbly, feeling more relaxed because of the imposed pause or you may be feeling strong levels of anxiety. You are unlikely to be feeling how you felt before the lockdown...when you were carrying on with business as usual.

The question is...

Who do you want to be when you get to the end of the tunnel? Who will you be when you emerge into the light?

You may not have given this any thought yet but you might want to start thinking about it now because at some point you will start to see that light at the end of your tunnel and be moving towards it faster than you might be ready for.

Find some time in your day to ponder on these questions:

- Who do you want to be when you emerge?

- What do you want to be doing?

- Where do you want to be doing it?

- What do you need to start doing now to be ready?

Your responses will help you shape your actions going forward.

What's next?

I can't tell you what you'll find when you emerge into the light but I can tell you it won't be the same as when you walked into your tunnel. The sales landscape will have changed. People's habits will have changed. Their thinking will have changed. Business operations will have changed. Your team and buyers will have changed. Some of the changes will be subtle and some radical. You will need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable because we will all be out of our comfort zone and testing our approaches in the Learning Zone.

The best muscles you can develop in readiness will be your ability to learn fast, apply fast and measure the impact. You'll need to tolerate more mistakes than usual in order to quickly find out what works and what doesn't.

There will be an acceleration of innovation following the pandemic if history is anything to go. I think the world will change in ways that we can't even imagine right now.

Give yourself permission to innovate your life going forward...if you want to! This pandemic has given you the perfect opportunity to do so grab it with both hands.

Until next time...keep safe and stay well,

Leigh :)

PS Are you interested in developing a Sales Growth Mindset culture in your team whilst in lockdown...I'd be delighted to help!

Hi I'm Leigh Ashton of The Sales Consultancy

Whether you're a small business or a leading brand, an area manager or a Chief Executive, whether you're new to sales or an experienced sales professional. Even if you're not in sales at all but want to understand it, you've come to the right place.

The World of Sales is changing.

Today's conventional sales training doesn't address the psychological barriers that get in their way.

My approach takes your sales team through a process that:

* Helps them identify their psychological barriers and gives them the tools to overcome them
* Teaches them how the mind works so they can keep motivated and stay focused
* Gives them the ability to identify the psychological patterns of their clients and prospects so they connect with them at a deeper level and close more sales

And at a higher level...

* It creates more success in other areas of their lives so they are happier generally...and happier sales people generate more sales

Wherever you are on your personal sales journey what's the best course of action for YOU.

The only constant in life is change. There is going to be big change after pandemic and I'm ready to embrace with open arms.

Big changes yes, I am wondering how networking will look once we are able to shake hands again. Or will we shake hands again? I feel some people are anxious to go back to "normal". However, normal for one person may not be the same for the next. So what will a greeting look like when we are able to greet one another again? What will a business lunch look like?

Love the positive perspective on the current situation of world affairs. The questions to ask yourself are simple yet actionable. I enjoyed how they lead to the last question, "what do you need to start doing now to be ready?" This breaks down larger goals into actionable steps.

Also, I'm totally interested in developing a sales growth mindset for myself and my team!
